We must take time-out sometimes and spend time with ourselves.
We normally take our self for granted without realizing how much we need us.
Morning started very badly, when I realized that its 9:30 AM and I am too late to start for our weekend Cricket. Past 2 weeks were very busy and I was not getting enough rest, so finally my body given up and trust me I did not listen when the alarm ringed and when Rajeev called me twice this morning.
Spent some quality time with Keith this evening and hilarious part was that all the time he was not aware that it was my birthday today. Purpose of this outing with was to learn something new and explore of my new lens 17-40mm F/4.0 L and thanks to him both purposes were solved. So kind of him…
We have visited a Shuang Lin Monastery at Toa Payoh, I requested him to go to some Buddhist temples first and later in the evening we can go to front of Sands, (Same place as last week). At Monastery I was mostly using my 50mm F-1.8 due to limited lights. Here are few which I have selected –

We spent later part of evening in front of sands, at the same jetty where I have visited last week, took many shots but I was unable to repeat the same shot as last week because of a ferry which just docks there all the time. Posting here is one of Sands again –
Learned new tricks of setting right exposure from Keith, a lot of thanks to him for his time and teaching me tricks… 🙂
My mentor of photography and friend Keith guided that its time to get a better lens and recommended “EF 17-40mm F/4.0 L USM”, so bought it. It costs me almost same as my 1000D kit :D, but worth buying. Now need to expertize it before I start for my India trip… feeling very excited to shoot with this… hopefully will be shooting tomorrow also, will post if anything comes up good… just to make a try, taken “St. Andrew’s Cathedral” at city hall. The most beautiful part of it is its exposure of the shaded area :)…

Took this one yesterday … comes up good … 🙂
It is one more, very beautifully maintained park located right in the middle of Singapore. Walk able from Dhoby Ghaut, City Hall and Clarke Quay MRT stations.
Our family outing was long overdue as I was not getting enough time to take them out. This long weekend given Anshu a chance to look at me with a question on her face… and I was morally forced to break my promise to not attend any calls (others than those important natural calls of course…) and took a bath.
Posting here few hope you will like it 🙂

Loads of tasks are waiting for my attention and I am not getting enough time to look into that. India trip is planned in November and tickets are booked, so the deadline to finish these tasks is already decided. Renewing kids and wife long term passes is one of the most important activities, hope I will be able to get all done before I fly to India, luckily ICA is walk able from my work place.
November is only 2 months away now. This time it will be a year since I have been visited Allahabad, probably the longest duration away from home town. While chatting with brother (BK) asked about weather condition, it’s just perfect to tour those places where we have visited last year. All falls are full of water and Vindhyachal hills are lush green because of good monsoon this year. Unfortunately it is hot and humid at the same time, so traveling with kids will not be a good idea. October will be the month when monsoon will slow down and winters will start taking over the weather of most of North-India. This will be the time of taking warm cloths out from boxes and drying it under the Sun to get rid of any moisture and smell of Naphthalene. I always enjoyed this transition of weather and time of continues festivals Dashera, Durga Pooja and then Diwali during my days in Allahabad… missing it.
Beginning of winters also brings fog which is not good for photography, especially when you are planning to shoot landscape. Unlike now when we can get clear sky often, bright sunshine and blue sky is rare during winters… long expose, low ISO and manual focus are going to keys for this kind of foggy weather.
In my opinion a memorable tour needs 2 main things, first old friends and second good knowledge of places of interest, luckily I have got both. This year also we will be traveling in MP (Madhya Pradesh) state and will be covering a World Heritage Site (Khajuraho), a hill station (Pachmarhi) and everything in between because we will be driving by our own. Driving by our own is another adventures part of it, which is going to be approximately 1000 KM round trip. Praying that everyone remain in good health so that we can execute what we have planned so far.
So this is it for the time… sharing a photograph of Ishu which I have taken last night… 🙂
